Newton Needs Amy Sangiolo

On Tuesday, September 12, the Preliminary Election, Newton voters will narrow the field of mayoral candidates from seven to two. I urge every Newton voter to vote for Amy Mah Sangiolo on September 12 to ensure that she is on the ballot on Election Day, November 7I know that Newton needs Amy as mayor because I know, respect and trust Amy.

Amy is someone who has vision evolved from first-hand experience. She is someone who is living the squeeze so many of us feel – sandwiched between work and family, raising kids and caring for aging parents. She’s had three children educated in the Newton Public Schools, and is committed to  world-class schools for every Newton student.  She has creative ideas for supporting seniors, those who are struggling, and those facing addiction.
Amy wants to build up Newton’s commercial tax base and pay down the city’s billion-dollar debt. Most of all, Amy is focused on resident-centered planning for Newton’s future, creating and preserving affordable housing that is small-scaled to fit into our villages, and leading on the environment, trees and open space. We need someone who is willing to fight for those ideals and has a track record of doing it.
