Two weeks from today will mark the 15th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks. Eight Newton residents were killed that awful day. The Newton 9-11 Memorial Committee will be hosting a ceremony at 6pm on September 11th to remember those lost. The ceremony will be held in front of Newton’s 9-11 memorial next to the Newton Fire Department headquarters on Centre Street. The ceremony is open to the public.
It seems hard to believe, but this year’s college freshmen have no memory of that day. Do you think it is important that they and those younger be taught about this horror?
What are your feelings about that day? How have they changed over time? Please share your thoughts in the comments.
